  • The Showrooming Effect in Retail abstract The thesis is an empirical study on the athletic footwear market' at the University of Edinburgh. The thesis helped me to identify shoppers who  engage within showrooming when they purchase sport shoes. The findings from the quantitative (online survey) and the qualitative (interviews) research I conducted allowed me to learn how consumers engage within this process of research shopping and the implications this phenomenon brings on store loyalty.
